Based in Northampton, England, Blackstar Amplification’s technological innovations are led by Technical Director Bruce Keir, a leading expert in guitar amplifier design with over 20 years experience in the field. Together with Ian Robinson, Paul Hayhoe and Richard Frost the Blackstar team have over 50 years of experience in the industry.

Building on the strong tradition of British guitar amplifier design, the Blackstar Amplification team has a design philosophy based on a passion for blending art and technology and for breaking conventions in order to produce outstanding new products and technologies. Their extensive experience in valve, solid-state and digital electronics design is reflected in the ranges of technically ground-breaking products being introduced.

Rather than restricting guitarists to the signature sounds of the established brands, Blackstar products allow tonal flexibility far beyond that of existing equipment and through their unique and patented innovations you can, for the very first time, create the ‘sound in your head’.

In two short years the company has built a reputation for uncompromising, cutting edge products that are revolutionising the sounds and features available to guitarists.  Artists such as Billy F Gibbons from ZZ Top and Gus G from Ozzy Osbourne are using Blackstar amps. Not to mention black metal lord Silenoz from Dimmu Borgir and punk legend James Willamson from Iggy and the Stooges. These are just a few names on an ever growing and highly impressive artist roster.

HT-5

The HT-5 is the ultimate studio and practice amp, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT valve pedals into a two channel, footswitchable valve combo. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes you from the USA to the UK and any where in between. So now you can effectively design your own tone and finally find ‘the sound in your head’.

HT STUDIO 20H

The HT Studio 20 head offers huge versatility for home, rehearsal or studio use and can be used with a variety of cabinets including the matching HT112 and HT212. The carefully voiced preamp coupled with a cathode-biased EL34 power amp, provides the user with the ability to create wonderfully lush valve tones. From pure boutique cleans, to mild overdrive that cleans up by backing off the guitar volume control, up to highly saturated distortion, this amp does it all.

HT CLUB 40

Equipped with 2 channels and 4 modes the HT Club 40 is the ideal gigging valve amp for club sized venues. The 40W EL34 driven power amplifier has amazing punch and dynamics that will easily cut through in a full band situation. Switching to the amazing ISF equipped overdrive channel accesses a further two modes – ‘classic crunch’ and ‘super saturated lead’.

HT SOLOIST 60

The HT Soloist 60 is the ultimate compact gigging amp for players who want the power to handle larger venues but in a 1x12 combo format. The HT Soloist has two channels and four modes which are augmented by an additional footswitchable solo boost. The solo boost will add up to 10db of level boost and can be used in conjunction with the Body switch for fat, singing leads.

ARTISAN 30H

The ARTISAN 30H is the head version of the award-winning combo with the same magical sonic qualities of the 30W EL84 power stage driving a pair of classic British speakers. The ARTISAN 30 takes this tone and carefully distils it, taking it to a new level of tonal purity. One channel is built around an EF86 with a 5-way Bass Shape switch and the other an ECC83 with the addition of a Voice control for extra tonal flexibility. The Master Volume delivers the pure, natural crunch that you would expect from an amp of this quality.
